Renaissance Heavy Industries (RHI) was taking part in construction of a vacuum gasoil (VGO) deep conversion complex within the framework of modernization of the Volgograd Refinery.

Construction was being carried out on the site of the project investor, LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka. Under the contract signed on 28 July 2013, RHI was to carry out construction and assembly works for a combined sulphur production unit and hydrogen production facilities. RHI completed its works within 26 months. The commissioning of the new complex allows the Volgograd Refinery to increase the output of Euro-5 diesel fuel by 1.8 million tonnes per year.
