PhosAgro Energy Efficient Ammonia Production Plant
Renaissance Heavy Industries will construct the highest-output ammonia production plant in Russia.
On the 21st of June 2013, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, OAO PhosAgro and the international consortium of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., Sojitz and Renaissance Heavy Industries signed a contract for construction of an energy efficient ammonia production plant in Russia.
The new ammonia production facility will have a capacity of 2,200 tonnes per day (760,000 tonnes per year) and will be built on PhosAgro-Cherepovets site in the Vologda Region.The plant will be the highest-output ammonia production facility in Russia among those in operation and under construction. The facility will comply with the highest standards for energy and raw material consumption, labour capacity, and minimal impact on the environment.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. will render design and procurement services. Sojitz will offer technical assistance. Renaissance Heavy Industries will be responsible for construction and will provide EPC services as well.
The project has recently started. The commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2017.
