Best Building of the Year 2012
The XX International contest for the best design and building of 2012 was successful for one of the projects implemented by Rencons in Turkmenistan – the Turkmen State Institute of Oil and Gas in Ashgabat. The contest was held in Yerevan under the auspices of the International Association of Unions of Architects (IAUA)
A complex of buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Oil and Gas in Ashgabat was awarded the first degree diploma in the nomination of “The best building of the year 2012”.
The professional jury highlighted that the project is a nice blend of modern architectural and artistic forms and maintains the traditions intrinsic to today’s Ashgabat’s architectural style.
Rencons implemented the project on a turnkey basis and was responsible for all the design works, shop drawings, construction works, electrical and mechanical systems, infrastructure systems, access roads, and landscape areas.
The complex occupies a 30-hectare plot and includes an eighteen-storey administrative building which is the most dominant structure of the project, five educational buildings for 3,000 students, six dormitories, a sports complex, a student center, a library, a museum, over 80 high-tech labs, conference halls, various sports facilities such as a football pitch, a tennis court, an indoor swimming pool, technical areas, parking lots, etc.
