The acrylic acid and acrylates complex in the city of Salavat, Russia, is being constructed under an EPC contract by the consortium of Rencons, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and the Sojitz Corporation.

The new acrylic acid and acrylates complex, with an annual production of 80,000 tonnes of crude acrylic acid, 80,000 tonnes of butyl acrylate and 35,000 tonnes of icy acrylic acid, will be one of the largest and most modern facilities in the world.

The complex, which will use the technology process licensed by the Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, is expected to reach its rated capacity in 2015.
