On June 21st, 2013, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, PhosAgro and the international consortium of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Sojitz and Rencons Heavy Industries signed a contract for construction of an energy efficient ammonia production plant in Russia. The new ammonia production facility is located in the Vologda Region.

The plant has the highest-output ammonia production in Russia among facilities in operation and under construction: it has a capacity of 2,200 tonnes per day (760,000 tonnes per year). The facility complies with the highest standards for energy and raw material consumption, labour capacity, and minimal impact on the environment.

Renaissance Heavy Industries was responsible for construction works and EPC services. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was rendering design and procurement services. Sojitz was offering its technical assistance.
