RET has concluded a contract with our client, the Baikal Mining Company (BMC), for the construction of the Udokan Mining and Metallurgical Plant Facility. The first phase of the project is the production facility, with a capacity of 12.0 million tons of ore per year.
The document was signed by the General Director of BMC, Yury Ryabov, and the General Director of RET Russia, Mikhail Ledovskikh.
In particular, RET will build the production plant, including the concentrator and reagent preparation plant, the leach plant, and the crushing and conveyor facility. RET will also manage the supply of equipment and materials for the facilities, the assembly of processing equipment, and precommissioning and commissioning operations.
RET commenced preliminary work in April 2019, mobilizing equipment and a significant number of staff to the site. In September the company launched full-scale construction of the processing facilities.
The processing equipment will be supplied by Outotec,
a leading company in process technologies for the mining,
metallurgical, and chemical industries.
Completion of construction and assembly works is scheduled to take place in 2022.
