On June 21st, 2013, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, OAO PhosAgro and the international consortium of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Sojitz and Renaissance Heavy Industries signed a contract for construction of an energy efficient ammonia production plant in Russia. The new ammonia production facility is located in the Vologda Region.
The plant will have the highest-output ammonia production in Russia among facilities in operation and under construction: it will have a capacity of 2,200 tonnes per day (760,000 tonnes per year).
The facility will comply with the highest standards for energy and raw material consumption, labour capacity, and minimal impact on the environment.
