On April 22nd, 2014, Renaissance Construction was announced as a potential general contractor for the construction of the Lakhta Center project by CJSC Social and Business Center Okhta, a Gazprom affiliated company.
Renaissance Construction was selected due to their offer of the most reasonable price and construction period, as well as the company’s extensive experience in high-rise construction. Currently, Renaissance is working on several high-rise projects in Russia and abroad: the Evolution Tower (255 m), Tower A of the Federation Complex (374 m), two towers (287 m) on plots 17-18 in the Moscow City International Business Center, and others.
The contract related to the foundations of the Lakhta Center multifunctional building to be awarded to Renaissance Construction is presently under approval and finalization.
The Lakhta Center, with its 462.7-meter-tall skyscraper as the dominant building, will accommodate the headquarters of Gazprom neft and its affiliated companies. The Lakhta center will provide a wide range of public facilities, including exhibition halls, an educational complex, a children’s center, a planetarium, and a health center. In addition it will contain a hotel, a multifunctional congress hall, a cinema, and a sports center.
The total area of the buildings and facilities will amount to 400,000 sq m. The commissioning is scheduled for 2018.
